An integral part of whole patient care is addressing the needs that many of our patients have outside the realm of diagnostic medicine and prescriptions.
We operate a full food pantry that provides nutritional support to not only to all of our patients, but also to community members.
While we are fortunate and do receive some free food from both Harry Chapin and Wake Up America, we purchase most of our food from Harry Chapin to supplement the free food we are able to receive.
The cost of operating this pantry also includes an increased electrical bill (for cold and frozen food storage) as well as monthly pest control to keep us in compliance with the USDA regulations for food pantry operations. We consistently serve over 375 people a month and approximately 40% of the participants are children.
